Sally and Andrew Whitney are the owners of Good Cause Brewing, a craft beverage company that dedicates itself to community growth and support. Since 2020, they have worked with Oklahoma SBDC Business Advisor Stephen Knight to strengthen their business plan, financial projections, and market strategy while navigating the regulatory hurdles of launching a brewery in Oklahoma. Their vision of creating craft beverages rooted in community impact guided every stage of their growth.
Together, Sally and Andrew overcame early funding barriers, shifts in operating models due to licensing constraints, and the challenge of building brand recognition without a permanent facility. Through contract brewing, collaborations, and consistent product quality, they expanded their reach into restaurants, festivals, and community events. Their determination was tested again in 2023 when a major storm severely damaged their building mid-renovation. They rebuilt and successfully opened their renovated location in 2024, emerging stronger and more focused than before.
Both Sally and Andrew have continued to broaden their expertise, Sally through community partnerships and nonprofit collaborations, and Andrew through production and consulting work, strengthening the company’s capacity and impact. Together, they continue to utilize Oklahoma SBDC guidance to enhance their knowledge and reach their business goals. Today, Good Cause Brewing serves as a community hub supporting local causes, artists, and emerging brewers.
