Oklahoma SBDC client Ellie Daniels, owner of Ellie’s Cajun Kitchen, stands smiling with her arms raised behind a vendor table at an outdoor event. The table displays Ellie’s Cajun Kitchen signage, food containers, bottled products, and serving supplies beneath a canopy.

Ellie’s Cajun Kitchen is an Oklahoma-based culinary venture that focuses on Cajun, Creole, and Southern-inspired cuisine. Founded by Ellie Daniels, a University of Oklahoma graduate with deep Louisiana roots, the business blends cultural authenticity with a modern, health-conscious approach to comfort food.

Known for signature dishes such as gumbo, jambalaya, étouffée, Cajun pasta, and Melon Ball Lemonade, Ellie’s Cajun Kitchen emphasizes fresh ingredients and approachable flavors. The business operates through multiple revenue streams, including catering services, pop-up events, and select online offerings like desserts and beverages, allowing flexibility and consistent community engagement.

Daniels launched Ellie’s Cajun Kitchen as a catering service promoted through social media. As the business developed, she registered for advising with the Oklahoma SBDC and began working with Business Advisor Greg Jones. Through the partnership, Daniels received guidance on insurance, financial projections, marketing, website development and other areas essential to building a sustainable business.

With support from the Oklahoma SBDC, Daniels expanded the company’s reach throughout Oklahoma City and the surrounding area, secured product placement in The Market at EastPoint and positioned the business for future growth. As Daniels works toward developing Ellie’s Cajun Kitchen into a fast-casual dining concept, the company continues to build on its foundation of food, storytelling and community connection.

“With support from the Oklahoma Small Business Development Center,” says Ellie Daniels, “[my] business has strengthened its strategy, growth planning and now serves a community grocery store, The Market at Eastpoint.”
